Working the the Refugee Resettlement Program from Hull City Council

14 Mar 2018

Around 18 months ago we we're approached by the resettlement program manager at Hull City Council who asked if we would help to provide quaility housing for two different schemes that she was in charge of coordinating which were designed to accomodate refugees settling in the UK.

Since then we have successfully houses over a dozen families in homes across the city and to date *touch wood* we havent experienced any issues.

Their whole team are extremely dedicated to ensuring the properties they procure are up to a clean, modern and functionable standard.

They are responsible for helping the refugees to integrate for the first 12 months, in which time we have noticed many gain employment and adapt to life in the Hull very smoothly.

Rates of rent are in line with market value and occasionally the resettlement program are able to help with small jobs in the property.

All properties must of course have in date gas safety certificates and crucially an electrical safety certificate too which can be arranged by Ultra Lets and carried out by one of our trusted accredited trades-people.

What about right to rent i hear you ask? Where do we stand?.. the council approve all of the refugees coming through their scheme and all have the apropriate permissions to remain in the UK.

Here are some FAQ's on the council website regarding refugees and asylum seekers.
