We're delighted to announce yet another great addition to our team! Please welcome Jay Appleton, our newest Maintenance Engineer! We thought we would let him get settled into his place in the business before introducing him, so here he is, let's hear about how he has found his time with us so far:
How have your first couple of weeks been?
I've really been enjoying it. It's been great to get straight into some of the maintenance that comes through from our tenants. Some jobs I get allocated are great and fall right in my skill which is perfect, but I really like coming across the slightly more challenging jobs that test me and give me a chance to learn and develop my abilities.
The working environment is great, I've only been here a couple of weeks and I already feel so welcome in the team from everyone, in the office and the other lads on the Maintenance Team.
What did you do before joining Ultralets?
I used to do loft installations and roof work, I enjoyed it but felt like I needed to experience the wider world of maintenance that was out there. That's where Ultralets came in, with an opportunity to be a part of their already accomplished Maintenance Team.
What's been the biggest change for you since joining Ultralets??
Flexibility for sure! I went from a job working long days and late hours to having the flexibility to work on a schedule that enables me to spend even more quality time with my family. I really appreciate the fact that Ultralets understands the importance of taking care of my family, allowing me to work flexibly should the need arise. But similarly, I know that if I wanted to work some extra time to help another guy on a job or to finish up a job with a few extra hours at the end of a day, I would be able to.
How is the future looking?
I am really keen to learn new skills to be able to get involved in some of the larger scale refurbishment works that Ultralets carries out for its clients. It's exciting to be part of this growing business and see all the new clients and properties that we can help manage and maintain.
