We have recently taken management of a commercial unit on Calvert Lane, the previous business had moved onto larger premises and the landlord looked to us to let the premises. There was no void period on the property as the previous occupants had agreed to continue paying rent until the unit was relet. Our Marketing Team headed to the property to acquire the listing photography, the property was listed online and we began receiving enquiries within a matter of hours.
After seeing the listing on our social media, a viewing was arranged with Sam Cawley, an interested business owner looking to relocate his headquarters for his company Blink Video. The viewing was scheduled for the day after the property went live. Sam's application came in for the property just a day after his viewing, and by the end of the day the landlord had approved the application and the location was now the new, on-street, location for Blink Video.
We got in touch with Sam a few weeks down the line to check in and ask him a few questions about his experience renting a commercial unit with Ultralets. Take a look at what he had to say:
Could you tell us a little bit about your business and what you do?
We specialise in creating corporate videos for websites and social media, as well as promotional videos, training, events, testimonials and music videos. We also provide live streaming, podcast, drone and photography services. Anything involving a camera, we do it!
What are you using the space for?
Each year we find ourselves needing more and more space. We are excited that the new place gives us all the space we need and more, so we are able to grow our business in it. We are able to have meetings from here, and have a designated edit area. We also have spaces for photography and video shoots, meaning we can invite our customers to shoot from here, giving us more creative options to offer to our customers.
What have been the benefits of your new space?
The location is great as we get lots of passing traffic. This is the first space we've had where we have a customer-facing front. The traffic is notoriously awful down Calvert Lane but for once that's a positive for us, as more people should see our sign and frontage, giving us exposure and brand awareness. The biggest benefit though is the amount of space we now have, giving us plenty of options for shoots and workspaces.
How has your experience been, renting your commercial unit from Ultralets been?
The team at Ultralets made the move to the new place easy. I like the system they have for reporting issues. We have a lock issue when we first moved in so logged it on the system. It was quickly dealt with which gives us peace of mind moving forward.
Have you made any changes to the unit since moving in?
As soon as we got the keys we cracked on with making changes before we moved in. New carpets, paint, doors and electrics as well as a new shutter and sign out the front. We have some exciting plans for the rooms at the rear of the property but one step at a time!
Any exciting plans for the future?
We are wanting to grow and expand and the new space gives us the foundations to do that, giving us space to employ more staff, work on larger projects and invite new and existing customers to develop ideas in a creative and collaborative space.
